Sheila Ann Duffey

Sheila Gray Duffey, 68 of Calhoun, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her home. She was born in Gordon County on May 27, 1949, daughter of the late Odell and Evelyn Evans Gray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Felton Duffey, in November, 1997; her brother, Vincent Gray; and her sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Carter Hunt, and Kay Gray.
Sheila was a graduate of Calhoun High School, and had retired from Shaw Industries. She was an active member of South Calhoun Baptist Church for 25 years, where she sang in the choir. She loved spending time with, and cooking for, her family.
She leaves behind her daughters and son-in-law, Darla Duffey-Bryant of Dalton, and Sheryl and Josh Stone of Calhoun; her granddaughter, Peyton Claire Stone; her nephews, Todd Hunt, David McGhee, Dwayne McGhee, and Danny McGhee; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and H.L. McGhee; and great-nieces, Bethany Hunt and Blair Hunt.
Services to honor the life of Sheila Gray Duffey will be held Monday, July 24th at 2:00 PM, from South Calhoun Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Bowman officiating. Music will be arranged by Brian and Amy Padgett. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Todd Hunt, Jason Ledford, Wilton Baker, Jr., David McGhee, Dwayne McGhee, and Danny McGhee. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Orvin Clark Sunday School Class of South Calhoun Baptist Church.
The Duffey family will receive friends at South Calhoun Baptist Church on Monday, from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the South Calhoun Baptist Church Building Fund.
