Shelby Gay

Shelby Gay, age 73, of Lilburn, died Sunday, July 24, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Tucker, with Rev. Loyal Clay officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Shelby was born in Calhoun, GA. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, was a member of Red Hat Lady and a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, John W. (Bill) and Estelle Nicholson and her brother, R. B. Gilbert, she is survived by her daughter, Carol Monteith of Atlanta; son, Darrell Gay of Lilburn; sister, Sylvia Nicholson McEntyre of Calhoun; grandchildren, Anna Monteith and Michael Monteith, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Monica McEntyre Parker, Michael McEntyre, Bruce Gilbert, Ricky Gilbert and Denise Southerland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4278 Chamblee Tucker Road, Doraville, GA 30340.
