Shelby Momon

Mr. William Shelby Momon, age 65 of Calhoun, died Thursday, May 27th, 2010. He was born in Rome on June 3rd, 1944, son of the late William Turner Momon and Josephine Kearce Momon. In addition to his parents, was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorizell Mathis Momon in 2001. Mr. Momon was a Free & Accepted Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Echota Vann Shrine Club.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Maleah and Matt Hibberts; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Momon; a brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Martha Momon; and a brother-in-law, Henry Mathis and his wife Linda, all of Calhoun. Six grandchildren survive, including Eli, Ethan and Mattie Hibberts, and Cate, Kinsey, and Chloe Momon. Other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. William Shelby Momon will be held on Sunday, May 30th at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Henry Mathis, Wendell Simmons, Rick Bryant, Cale Curtis, Brandon Curtis, and Brice Bryant.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 29th, between the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm at the funeral home.
