Shelia Elaine Mefford

Shelia Elaine Underwood Mefford, age 50 of Resaca, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at her residence following eleven months of declining health.

Shelia was born on January 8, 1963 in Whitfield County, daughter of the late Leonard Underwood, who died in 2011, and Martha Jackson Underwood in 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Waylon Underwood in 1981. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.

Survivors include her companion and best friend, Robert Pack; two daughters, Misty Kittle of Fairmount, and Kristy Holder of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Austin Kittle, Harley Holder and Zoee Kittle; and special friend, Diane Reed.

Funeral services for Shelia Elaine Underwood Mefford will be conducted Monday, August 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Nick Defoore, Jeremiay Sisson, Chad Ray, Stephen Hales, Dakota Bomar and Zane Clifton. Junior Dean and Chris Dean will serve as honorary escort. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial Baptist Church.

The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday at 4:00 pm.
