Shelia West

November 23, 1957 — March 22, 2013

Mrs. Shelia Raines West, age 55 of Calhoun died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Erlanger Medical Center following three weeks illness.

Mrs. West was born on November 23, 1957 in Gordon County, daughter of Bud and Wincie Stanley Raines. She attended Calhoun High School and continued her education at Dalton College and Hamilton Medical Center as a Respiratory Technician. She was employed with Owasa Family Medicine as Medical Office Assistant until 2006. She was a member of East Calhoun Church of God.

Survivors include a daughter, Beth West Petty and her husband Jamie of Calhoun; a son, Stewart "Bubba" West and his fiance' Eileen Black of Calhoun; four sisters, Janie Dunman and her husband Gene of Dalonega, Bobbie Johns and her husband Max of Nickelsville, Karen Greeson and her husband Mitchell of Sugar Valley, and Leslie Wilbanks and her husband Michael of Sugar Valley; a brother, David Raines and his wife Joann of Sugar Valley; two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Matthew Petty of Calhoun; parents, Bud and Wincie Raines of Sugar Valley; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shelia Raines West will be conducted Monday, March 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Sugar Valley Church of God, with Rev. Dewaine Shadix and Rev. Keith Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Valley Church of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday March 24th after 4:00 PM. In lieu of floral tributes, donations can be made in Shelia's memory to help with final expenses and sent to the "Sheila West Fund", P.O. Box 1027, Calhoun, GA 30703.
