Shirlee Ann Boots

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Shirlee Ann (Cagle) Boots, 71, of Fairmount, Georgia, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. She was born on August 11, 1953, to the late George and Jewell Hendrix Cagle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Cagle.

Shirlee was a vibrant spirit who brought joy to everyone she met. She had an incredible gift for making people feel welcome and loved in life. She could sway a room with her presence, infectious spirit, sense of humor, and genuine love for others. Everyone that knew her loved her.

Married to her first love, her devoted husband, Bill Boots, they shared a life of love, laughter, support, and unwavering dedication for 55 years.

As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her family was her greatest treasure. Shirlee loved her husband, Bill, with all her heart. Her children—David, Dawn, and Lisa—were her pride and joy. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Shirlee was also known for her deep affection for her precious dogs, who brought her endless compassion and comfort.

Shirlee is survived by her loving husband, Bill Boots; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Ashley Boots; her daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Allen Baumgardner, Lisa and Danny Cochran; her grandchildren, Devin, Chris, Breonna, Ashlyn, Chynna, Dillon, Jordan, Destinee, Jasmine, and Addison; and six great-grandchildren who adored her.

As we say goodbye to our dear Shirlee, we find comfort in knowing her love will live in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Though she may no longer be with us, her memory, her laughter, and her kindness will continue to inspire us all.

We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating Shirlee’s life. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor DaRon Henson officiating. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, Ga.
