Mrs. Shirley Black Quinn, age 54 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center following several months of declining health.
Mrs. Quinn was born on December 8, 1954 in Whitfield County, daughter of the late Haywood and Rosie Mae Gravitt Black. During her lifetime she was self employed, working for many families in Gordon County as a residence house cleaner. She was a faithful member of the College Street Church of God.
Survivors include a special aunt, Betty Jean Black McBee, a special cousin, Shelia McBee, and special friends, Debbie Clark and Jeannie Hobgood. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Black Quinn will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Clay Stephens and Pastor Donald Lee officiating. Singing will be arranged by Cathy Talley, Retta Ledbetter and Randy Clark. Pallbearers serving will include Randy Clark, Tracy Brown, Richie Lee, Doug Talley, Scott Herod, and Lindsey Jackson. Interment will follow the service in the family lot of Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday, from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
