Shirley Brock White

Mrs. Shirley Brock White, age 73 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009. She was born in Floyd County on March 16, 1936, daughter of the late Robert and Louise Sharp Brock.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, James Franklin White on July 22, 2009; three brothers, Darnell Brock, Norman Brock, and infant brother, Richard Brock; two sisters, Imogene Beard and Mary Wilson Moore; and a son-in-law, Jerry Crider.

Survivors include two daughters, Gwenona Crider of Calhoun, and Melinda Dill and her husband Robert, Jr. of Meigs, Georgia; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Joe and Pam Brock of Rome; two sisters, Louise Durham and Belle Daniels, both of Rome; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Mildred White of Calhoun, Opal and James Staton of Havana, Florida, Fay Nell McClure of Adairsville, and Betty White of Summerville. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Heather West and her husband Brandon, Kayla Dill, and Robert (Bubba) Dill III; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Justin West; a special nephew, Gary Knight; and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Brock White will be conducted Friday, September 25th at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Hibberts and Rev. David White Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Jerry Helms, David White, Jr., Thad White, Jeff Durham, Robbie White, and Donnie Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Davis, Ray and Wanda Moore, Rita David Collins, Larry Gaines and Wilborn Dycus.
