Shirley Elizabeth Mullins Gann

Mrs. Shirley Elizabeth Mullins Gann, age 67 of Calhoun, passed away Monday July 28, 2014 at a Chattanooga hospital following an extended period of declining health.

She was born in Churchill, TN., on July 6, 1947, daughter of the late Isaac Mullins and Laura Patterson Mullins. She was preceded in death by three sons, James Gann in 1972, Lynn Gann in 2010 and Randy Gann in 2014; four brothers, Travis, John, Buddy and Tiny Mullins; and two sisters, Pearl Manis and Joann Stapleton.

Mrs. Gann was employed for 17 years by Outboard Marine Corporation in Calhoun, and was retired from Mohawk Industries, where she was a shipping clerk at the Calhoun Distribution Center.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Gann to whom she was married for 49 years; a daughter, Sherry Gann of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Casey and Mary Gann, and Kayla Williams; two great-grandchildren, Jason Gann and Braylon Williams; three sisters, Jean Jones of Churchill, TN, Tressie Calton of Churchill, and Nora Goins of Rogersville, TN. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Elizabeth Mullins Gann will be conducted Thursday, July 31st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Larry Gann officiating. Interment will follow in Paynes Chapel Cemetery on Lookout Mountain. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include Christopher, Joshua, and Casey Gann, Phillip Williams, Keith Hall, and Scott Mullins.

The Gann family will receive friends Wednesday between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed and the guestbook signed at maxbrannonandsons.com.
