Mrs. Shirley Faye Edge, age 57 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 in Harriman, TN. She was born in Murray County, GA on April 24, 1952, daughter of the late John and Beulah Land Ghorley. Mrs. Edge was employed at Shaw Industries for more than thirty-seven years, and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, General Lee Ghorley.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Pickens and Tina Whitten of Calhoun; two daughters, Lisa Wilkey and her husband Kevin, and Wanda Caldwell, all of Calhoun; four sisters, Mary McDaniel and Diane Arregein, both of Chatsworth, and Brenda Duvall and Carolyn Ann Ghorley, both of Oakdale, TN. Twelve grandchildren, Elizabeth Caldwell, Daniel Johnston, Johnny Jr., Dustin, Skylare, Andrew, Amber and Tabitha Pickens, Preston Silvers, Bailey and Blair Wilkey, and Brandi Cordell. Best friend Doug, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Faye Edge will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton. Pallbearers serving will include Caleb Gibson, Mark Bates, Gene Elrod, Michael Biggs and Ronald McDaniel. These gentlemen are asked to assemble at the funeral home Wednesday at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
