Mrs. Simmie Bagley Lewis, age 92 of the Red Bud community, Calhoun, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. Mrs. Lewis was born in Gordon County, GA on September 26th, 1919, daughter of the late T.H. and Sara Chadwick Bagley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Lewis in 1997; three sisters, Lois Parker, Lillian Boswell and Mrs. Laura England; and three brothers, Robert Bagley, Ernest Bagley and Erwin Bagley.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by two daughters, Annette Lewis Dutton and her husband Dwydale of Calhoun, and Marie Lewis Burnette and her husband Chuck of Calhoun; a brother Hudon Bagley of Calhoun; a granddaughter, Angela Dutton Tatum; four great- grandchildren, Jessica Ellis, Josh Ellis, Josh Tatum and Cheyenne Tatum, a sister, Ruby Baggett; and a sister-in-law, Sara Jo Bagley. Several nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Simmie Bagley Lewis will be conducted Friday, May 4th at 3:00 PM from New Town Baptist Church, with Rev. Walter Hare and Rev. Tommy Crider officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Gary Parker, Josh Ellis, Josh Tatum, Danny Baggett, Kerry Bagley, and Randy Baggett.

The family will receive friends Thursday between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
