Sonja Marie Nichols

Mrs. Sonja Marie Nichols, age 38 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Floyd Medical Center. She was born in Gordon County on April 14, 1969, daughter of the late Troy and Mattie Adams Cochran. During her lifetime, she was a homemaker and was employed at Ryan's Steak House.

Survivors include her husband, Gurney Nichols; a son, Wendell Troy Cochran of Adairsville; sisters, Vickie Foster and her husband David of Mentone, AL, Rowena Scroggins and her husband John of Pine Log, Melissa Upshaw and her husband Donnie of Adairsville, Teresa McCoy of Calhoun, and Ramona Reynolds and her husband Ronnie of Plainville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sonja Marie Nichols will be conducted at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 5 from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville. Active pallbearers serving will include Cody Cochran, David McCoy, Stephen McCoy, Clint Nichols, Dustin Nichols, and Josh Holloway. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Saturday at 1:15pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
