Mr. Steve Lamar Slaughter, 65 of Calhoun, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center following several years of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on September 1, 1950, son of the late Roy and Betty Ray Slaughter. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Pamela Faye Gallman in 1995.
Steve was a graduate of Calhoun High School, and before his illness, was employed with Nance Carpets. He was honored to be an organ donor.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Brittney and Daniel Hopkins of Calhoun, Rebecca Holden of Rome, and Jennifer Garcia; and his grandchildren, Eric Rogers, Trent Hammond, Allison Hall, Rosa and Jennifer Cruz, and Amber and Aaron Holden.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Steve Lamar Slaughter will be held Thursday, May 19th at 6:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Stephen Hare officiating. Interment will be in Sardis Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, May 19th from 4:00 PM until the service hour of 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Steve Lamar Slaughter Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1027, Calhoun, GA 30703.
