Sue Hampton

August 6, 1940 — March 7, 2011

Mrs. Mary Frances (Sue) Hampton, age 70 of Calhoun, GA died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living following a brief illness. She was born in Jefferson County, Missouri on August 6, 1940, daughter of the late John Thomas Wilson and the late Esther Elizabeth Fulkerson Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Willis Hampton in 2001.

Mrs. Hampton was a homemaker during her lifetime, and was a member of the New Town Baptist Church in Calhoun. She loved to walk and enjoyed being outdoors.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Hampton and his wife Kathy of Calhoun, and Randy Hampton and his wife Jennifer of Macon, GA; a daughter, Brenda Gaylord of Greenfield, TN; a brother, Garland Wilson and his wife Judy of Oscar, KY; a sister, Karen Stamper and her husband S.W. of Paducah, KY; and nieces and nephews. Grandchildren surviving are Tarah Gallman and Melanie Hampton, both of Calhoun, Madison Hampton and Hannah Hampton, both of Macon, and J.D. Gaylord and Hunter Gaylord, both of Greenfield, TN; and great-grandchildren, Laina Veit and Tucker Gallman.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Frances (Sue) Hampton will be conducted Friday, March 11th at 11:00am from the Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center, KY. Interment will follow in the Oscar Baptist Church Cemetery in Oscar, KY.

The family requests flowers be omitted, and donations made in Mrs. Hampton's name to the American Cancer Society, 300 W. Emery Street, Suite 106, Dalton, GA 30720.
