Sue Mcbee

March 12, 1938 — September 15, 2017

Sue Meadows McBee, 79 of Calhoun, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2017.
Sue was a member of Echota Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, having served as pianist, Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Women on Mission and helping where ever she was needed. She was a graduate of Calhoun High School class of 1956 where she played basketball. She and her husband Marvin adored their grandchildren, always attended their sporting events as well as various school activities. Her daughters are so thankful that their mother was such a woman of faith. She retired from Mohawk Industries in 1999 having previously worked at Dixie Bell Mills, Thomas Pride, Venture Carpets and The Harbinger Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rembert Miles and Pauline Holmes Meadows and two sisters, Betty Hill and Jackie Williams and by two brothers, Sandy Meadows and Lance Meadows.
Survivors include her devoted husband to whom she was married for 59 years, Marvin McBee; daughters, Susan E. McBee of Alpharetta and Maria McBee Mitchell and her husband Mitch of Dalton; two grandchildren, Emma and Joshua Mitchell of Dalton; one brother, Rex Meadows of Calhoun; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 18, at Echota Baptist Church with Pastor, Randy Davis and Rev. Scott Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Eddie Brannon officiating. Pallbearers serving include Vic Bohannon, Calvin Tate, Michael Langston, Todd Mullinax, Terry Wright and Dwight Brown. Honorary escort will be members of the Echota Baptist Church Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in Sue's memory to Echota Baptist Church, 35 College Street, Calhoun, GA 30701
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.
