Sue Pettit Kirk

Mrs. Sue Pettit Kirk, age 70 of Calhoun died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her residence following 18 months of illness.

She was born on May 19, 1944, daughter of the late Charles Pettit and Bertha Haney Pettit.

Sue had previously been employed for many years by Image Carpets in Rome and then by Star Holdings in Dalton as Office Manager.

Those preceding her in death besides her parents were four brothers, Olan Pettit, Rusty Pettit, Trammel Pettit and Jimmy Pettit; and a sister, Nan Taylor.

Sue is survived by her husband, Charles Kirk of Calhoun; a daughter, Joy Kirk of Fairmount; a grandson, Kirk Townsend of Calhoun; and three sisters, Catherine Mashburn of Resaca, Evelyn Gaines of Calhoun, and Faye Abbott of Calhoun.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sue Pettit Kirk will be held Tuesday, June 10th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Blackstock officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday between the hours of 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
