Mrs. Sunya Kay Brannon, age 54 of the Jersualem Community in Pickens County, died Friday, June 17, 2011.
Mrs. Brannon was born on December 1, 1956 in Walker County, Alabama, daughter of the late Billy and Lucille Virginia Hulsey Davidson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hall. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brannon is survived by her husband, Randy Lamar Brannon, to whom she was married for 34 years; two sons, Jamie Lee Brannon of the Jersualem Community, and Jeremy Walter Brannon and his wife Ashleigh of the Sonoraville Community; three sisters, Diane Richman, Sandra Collins, and Gail Ford, all of Floyd County; and two grandchildren, Aiden Lamar Brannon and Evelyn Sophia Brannon. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sunya Kay Brannon will be conducted Monday, June 20, 2011 at 1:00 pm from the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church with Kenneth Burton and Rev. J.E. Glass officiating. Music will be arranged by Mrs. Gina Crider. Active pallbearers serving will include Billy Davidson, Ron Shannon, Joey Childers, Jason Childers, Tim Owens and John Johnson. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home on Monday at 11:30 am. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Trevor Fite, Charles Roberts, Mather Rickman, Jr, Dale Stone and Jackie Brannon, and they are requested to meet at the church on Monday at 12:45 pm. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday evening during the hours of 6:00pm until 9:00pm and on Sunday from 3:00pm until 9:00pm.
