Suzanne Lynn Bates

Ms. Suzanne Lynn Bates, age 50 of Calhoun, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Morristown, TN on April 6, 1963, daughter of Shelby Jean McConnell Bates and the late Harry Jackson Bates, who passed away in 1971. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Gene Dillard in August, 2007, and a brother, Shawn Carl Bates in 1986.

She leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Shawn Alan and Jenny Marie Bates of Rockmart; mother, Shelby Jean Dillard of Calhoun; brothers, Wade Bates of Indiana, William Bates of Cartersville, Jack Bates of Calhoun, Arthur Bates of Indiana, and Darl Bates of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Charlotte Shelby (Charlee) Ann Bates, and Lucas, James, and Leanna. A special nephew and niece, Dominic and Danica Bates of Calhoun; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Suzanne Lynn Bates will be held Saturday, October 19th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Music will be arranged by Joan Greeson Eggers. Interment will follow the service in Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Darren Bates, Derek Bates, Chad Bates, Michael Bates, Turner Bates, and Dominic Bates.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday after 5:30 PM.
