Sybil Ann Welchel Hembree, 84 of Calhoun, died Monday, November 16, 2015 at Calhoun Heath Care. Mrs. Hembree was born in Cartersville, GA on August 10, 1931, daughter of the late James R. Welchel and Rebecca Shepard Welchel. She was preceded in death by her husband, to whom she was married to for 35 years, Bill Hembree in February of 1986; son, Dale Hembree; an infant son, Jimmy Hembree; and a son-in-law, Rick Massingill.
Mrs. Hembree was retired from Crown Crafts and was a member of Center Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Johnny D. Hembree; daughters, Darlene Scott and her husband Skip, Debbie Massingill, and Tina Welch and her husband Brian; a brother, Don Welchel and his wife Diane; sisters, Betty, Edna Simpson and her husband Ronnie, and Diane Barnette; grandchildren, Dee Dee Cox, Bubba Scott, Josh Cook, Tara Cook, Stephanie Cook, Richie Cook, Jonathon Hembree, Megan Hembree, Kaylie Hembree, Jessica Silvers, April Silvers, April Silvers, Joey Hembree, Crystal Hembree, Lori Hembree, Jessica Hembree, Amber Hembree, and DJ Hembree; and thirty great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Hembree will be held Friday, November 20th at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Quarles officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Jonathon Hembree, Brian Welch, Joshua Cook, Harry Welchel, Larry Welchel, Larry Welchel, Bubba Scott, and Devin Cox.
The Hembree family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 19th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
