Mr. Talmadge Greeson, 81, of the Plainville community, died at Gordon Hospital on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 following several years of declining health. Talmadge was born in Nicklesville, Georgia on September 9, 1935; he was the son of the late Leon T. and Rosetta Lay Greeson. Talmadge proudly served The United States in the Air Force for more than twenty years. After his retirement from service, he worked with Carriage Carpets and Trend Mills. A loving and caring husband and father. He deeply treasured his family. His legacy will live on in their memories, and in the example he left for them to follow.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lillian Greeson; his daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Jones, Donna Cervantes, and Susan and Fain Ellison; his sister, Gertrude Mullins; a very special brother-in-law, James Gravitt; his grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, Joseph, Derrick, Stephanie, Dillion, and John; many great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
The Greeson family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Georgia National Cemetery near Canton, Georgia. Rev. Luke Morgan will officiate.
