Mr. Max Ted Bennett, age 63 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at Vista Care Hospice at Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta. He was a native of Gordon County, born on August 16, 1948 to the late Marion Dennis Bennett and the late Bertha Goss Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Bennett of Sugar Valley and J.R. Bennett of Plainville; and two brothers-in-law, Lindsey "Buster" Woodring and Lowell Pinion.

Ted was employed in the textile industry for 40 years, and had been employed with Bentley Dye for the last 13 years.

Ted was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Geraldine Bennett, to whom he was married January 28, 1967; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Julie Bennett and Jason and Susan Bennett; his two adored grandchildren, Lex and Bree Bennett; four sisters, Carolyn Hamrick of Marietta, Catherine Brookshire and Joyce Silvers of Calhoun, and Janice Hancock and her husband Jimmy of Fairburn; two brothers, Doyle Bennett and his wife Evonne, and Jimmy Bennett and his wife Tammy, all of Calhoun; mother-in-law, Clara Woodring; and sister-in-law, Barbara Pinion. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Max Ted Bennett will be held Monday, October 31st at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Dr. Bert Vaughn conducting the committal service. Active pallbearers will include Richard Brookshire, Ray Landress, Greg Landress, Larry Woodall, Eddie Woodall, and Joe VanZandt.

The Bennett family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
