Telena Barton

Mrs. Telena Jackson Barton, age 36 of Cartersville, formerly of Calhoun, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center following five years of illness.

Mrs. Barton was born on September 26, 1973 in Whitfield County, daughter of Willard Jess Jackson and Peggy Genia Smith Jackson. She was employed as a Dental Hygienist and was a member of Mt. Pisagh Baptist Church in Chatsworth.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Evan Barton, to whom she was married for eighteen years; parents, Willard and Peggy Smith Jackson; a sister, Genia Davis of Chatsworth; a brother; Thomas Jackson of Ellijay; nieces, Crystal Davis, Courtney Davis and Jessica Jackson; and a nephew, Cameron Davis. Aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Telena Jackson Barton will be conducted Thursday at 2:00pm from the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, with Rev. Jamey Hunt and Rev. Tony Patterson officiating. Active pallbearers will include Keith Smith, Justin Dooley, Cameron Davis, Terry Davis, Doug Smith and Randall Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Garmon and Jason Garmon. Interment will follow the service in the Holly Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
