Mrs. Terry Sue Alexander, age 69 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 following an extended illness. She was born in Louisville, KY on September 8, 1944, daughter of the late Howard and Anna Frances Brown Louden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Charles Spurgeon in 1993; and her first husband and the father of her children, J.W. Ray and by one brother, Howard Stanley Louden Jr., and one sister, Mona Olson.
Mrs. Alexander was retired as a self-employed daycare provider. She attended the Church of God of the Union Assembly and East Calhoun Church.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Shannon Akins of Dalton, Tracye and Shanon Carnes of Calhoun, and Alicia and Sam Brown of Adairsville and one sister, Stannye Atherton and her husband Richard of Shephardsville, KY. Grandchildren surviving are Sasha Herron, Brandon McCoy, Britney Basnett, Tenika Hollingsworth, Starr Smith, Storm Carnes, and a grandson-in-law, Warner Basnett. Great-grandchildren are Kaden, Braydon and Aslan Johnston, Skylin Knowles, Heather, Timothy, and Angela Spurgeon, and Sunny Cooper and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Spurgeon Other survivors include special friends, James Alexander, Nancy Williams, and Robin Guthrie.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Terry Sue Alexander will be held Monday, April 14th at 11:00 AM from the Church of God of the Union Assembly, 473 West Belmont Drive, Calhoun with Bill Rapper, Pastor John Dorsey, and Pastor Darrell Akins officiating. Music will be arranged by Mike Bunch and Nancy Gentry. Interment will follow the service in Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Mario Estrada, Dwight Jones, James Nonnie (Jimbo), Anthony Alexander, Jaime Williams, and Wayne Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Sheriff, James Alexander, and Bill Rapper.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
