Thelma B. Wilson

Mrs. Thelma B. (Nannie) Wilson, age 77 of Calhoun, died Thursday October 18, 2007 in Gordon Hospital.

Mrs. Wilson was born on August 22, 1930, daughter of the late William and Mimey Chastain. She was preceded in death by her husband Granville Wesley Chastain, to whom she was married 50 years, and by five brothers, Thurston, Doyle, Dutch, Pat and Vester Chastain; two sisters, Bertie Lee Wilson and Hattie Evans, and by a son- in-law, Ken Davenport. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church in Fairmount and was employed by Mohawk Industries prior to her retirement.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by three daughters; Sylvia Davenport of Blairsville, GA, Janie Wheeler and her husband Joe of Calhoun, and Linda Pasley and her husband Mitchell of Calhoun; two sons, Wesley Wilson and his wife Jan of Calhoun, and Timmy Wilson and his wife Lynn of Calhoun; and one sister, Ella Mae Surratt of Cartersville. Eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma B. (Nannie) Wilson will be held Saturday, October 20th at 2:00 PM, from the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Quarles, Rev. A.J. Waters, and Rev. Harold Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Steve Chastain, Tony Chastain, Charles Chastain, James Surratt, Allen Evans, and Richard Chastain. Music will be arranged by Betty Chastain and Carly Helmsley.

The family will receive friends beginning Thursday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
