Thelma Glass Farmer

April 14, 1917 — March 13, 2009

Mrs. Thelma Glass Farmer, age 91, of Lookout Mountain in the New Salem Community, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Farmer was born on April 14, 1917 in Murray County, daughter of the late Henry and Essie Burks Glass. She had lived on Lookout Mountain since 1952.

Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd B. Farmer, to whom she was married for 70 years, and by a son, Norman L. Farmer. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church

She is survived by her son, Ray Farmer and wife Bibble of the New Salem Community; two sisters, Laurazell Cochran and Odell Brown; and two brothers, Rev. J.E. Glass, and Rev. Marvin Glass. Four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Glass Farmer will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. J.E. Glass and Rev. Marvin Glass officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jason Farmer, Bryan Farmer, Clint Farmer, Anthony Duggan, Ronnie Stone, and Jerry Cochran. Tim Phillips will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
