Thelma Louise Baker

Mrs. Thelma Louise Baker, age 87 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Gordon Health Care following several years of declining health. She was a native of Gordon County, born on February 12, 1925 to the late Dennis and Florence Fuquea Silver. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harris Richard Baker in 1984; a son, Jimmy Baker; and a brother, Burl Silver.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jackie Baker of Atlanta, Wayne and Janet Baker of Grantville, GA, and Stephen and Beverly Baker of Calhoun; three brothers, Grady Silver of Calhoun, Max Silver and his wife Sue, and Murl Silver, all of Cartersville, GA; and two sisters, Laura Jo Miller and Anna Sea, both of Cartersville. Grandchildren surviving are Kathy Carr, Larry Baker, Jr., Bobby Baker, Keith Baker, Chris Baker, and Angelique Williams; and great-great grandchildren, Zachery Baker, Chloe Baker, Brody Baker, Allison Carr, Emily Carr, Logan Carr, Devin Norris, Courtni Williams, Megan Williams, Carley Williams, Ali Baker, and Jace Baker. Several nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Louise Baker will be held Monday, February 27th at 3:00pm from the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Ken Conner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers include Chris Baker, Tommy Williams, Larry Baker, Jr., Bobby Baker, Keith Baker, and Steve Carr. Honorary pallbearers are Pat Baker, Hersel Sexton, Larry Defoor, and Danny Fite. Music will be arranged by Ronnie Hammontree.

The Baker family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home beginning Saturday at 6:00pm and continuing through Sunday.
