Thomas Mcbee

Mr. Thomas McBee Jr., age 82 of Calhoun died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Heritage Hospice in Marietta, Georgia after an extended illness.

Mr. McBee was bon in Bartow County Georgia on August 31st, 1928, son of the late Thomas McBee Sr. and Alphia Broome McBee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Jane West McBee in 1986.

Survivors include two sons, Walter McBee and his wife Karen of Calhoun, and Cecil McBee and his wife Jenny of Canton; along with two daughters, Peggy Cantrell and her husband Victor of Canton, and Patsy Godwin of Jasper. Eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren along with other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas McBee Jr. will be conducted Saturday, February 26th at 4:00 PM from Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church, with Rev. Harold Owens and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Howard conducting the committal service. Music will be arranged by the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers serving include Tyler McBee, Shawn Paul, Michael McBee, Nathan McBee, Corey Brown and Clifford West. Honorary pallbearers serving will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The body will be placed in state Saturday at the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour.

The McBee family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Friday between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
