Thomas Ray Peden age 68 of Resaca passed away Saturday March 10, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Peden was born in Whitfield County on March 18, 1938 son of the late Clarence and Daisy Gossett Peden. He was beloved father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid coon hunter and was past president of the Gordon County Coon Hunters Association. He also loved fishing, gardening and loved to raise vegetables. During his lifetime he worked many years in the textile industry and was owner of Coosa Carpet Mills in Rome, Georgia and he later retired from Norvill Industries.
Survivors include three sons; Kenny Peden and Tim Peden both of Calhoun and Kirby Peden and his wife Julia of Big Timber, Montana. One daughter; Tonya Smith and her husband Anthony of Resaca and one step-daughter Millie Bearden of Johnstown, New York. Grandchildren; Amanda, Hanna and Holly Smith, Luke and Addiline Peden and Emily, Jacob and Jonathan Bearden also survive. Memorial Services for Thomas Ray Peden will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Peden Family Cabin on the Oostanaula River. The family gathering will be held at the residence on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
