Mr. Tim William Parks, age 54 of Plainville, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Floyd Hospital. He was born in Pickens County on November 10, 1955, son of David Parks and Bonnie Wilkey Shephard. Before becoming disabled in 1999, Mr. Parks was self-employed in the construction industry. He was a member of the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include his father, David Parks of Jasper; mother, Bonnie Wilkey Shephard of Plainville; two sons, Bryan Selman and his wife Beth, and Timothy Parks, both of Rome; two daughters, Samantha Miller and her husband Marcus of Euharlee, and Angel Nichole Parks of Rome; three brothers, Allen Parks of Shannon, Lawrence Edward Parks of Plainville, and Thomas Parks of Calhoun; and a sister, Jennie Lou Childers of Plainville. Grandchildren are Marcus Miller II, Austin Selman, Mackenzie Miller, Andre Selman, Addie Selman, and Aiden Selman. An extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Tim William Parks will be conducted Saturday, September 25th at 2:00pm from the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy, with Bro. Jerry Gaddis and Bro. Spencer Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Billy Wilkey, Anthony Wilkey, Tommy Wilkey, Joseph Wilkey, Tommy Fowler, and Lamar Williams. Mr. Parks will lie state at the church from 1:00pm until the funeral hour of 2:00pm.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
