Timmie James Lyles

Timmie James Lyles, 66, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Piedmont, Alabama, on June 23, 1957, to the late Dewey Robert and Adill Lyles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy Rhodes, Roy and Eva Lyles; brothers-in-law, Cooter Moore and Glenn Moore. 

Timmie enjoyed family time, playing poker with his friends, and fishing. He also enjoyed being at home. He loved his dog Pedro and watching the Braves, Falcons, Wrestling, and NASCAR. He was of the Baptist Faith. 

Timmie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane Lynn Lyles; sons and daughters-in-law, Timmy James Jr. and Courtney Lyles, Brian and Terri Lyles; daughter and her fiancé, Cindy Lyles and Nathan Russell; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Elaine Lyles; sisters and brother-in-law, Becky Moore, Idema and Howard Strickland, Anna Moore; sisters-in-law, Becky Rhodes and Dorothy Cook; brothers-in-law, Dale Cook and Dorsey Cook; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Stewart; grandchildren, Tyler Lyles, Zach Lyles, Kalin “KK” Lyles, Allyssa Lyles, Aliza Lyles, and Blade Lyles. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Heritage Baptist Church. 

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM from Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Parrott officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tyler Lyles, Zach Lyles, Blade Lyles, Travis Lyles, Gary Moore, Jimmy McRee, Nathan Russell, and Chris Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Strickland, Matt Hedrick, Lance Kerr, Jasper Kirby, and Randy Williams.
