Tom Fowler

Tom Allen Fowler, 68, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 1, 2023. He was born on November 14, 1954, to the late Doyle and Freeda Stamey Fowler.

Tom graduated Calhoun High School in 1972. Tom spent his childhood farming with his father and grandfather. The majority of his adult life was spent in many aspects of the transportation industry.

Tom loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a role model to many men. He loved working with the youth. Tom was an original member of the first soccer association in Calhoun. He enjoyed coaching soccer and baseball. Tom craved the outdoors in farming, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America Association. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with family and friends. The last several years, Tom’s highlight were exploring and driving in the North Georgia Mountains with his beloved wife and best friend for life, Tamra of 43 years.

Tom is survived by his wife, Tamra Taylor Fowler; two sons, Michael Medellin and Austin Fowler (Kelly); sister, Dorothy Fowler Johns; grandchildren, Ava Fowler, Milani Medellin, Alleah Medellin, Annabelle Fowler, and Ansley Fowler; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM from Heritage Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are T.J. Eifert, Brandon Taylor, Dustin Fowler, Hammon Lighting, Robert Flowers, Josh Fowler, Bryan Fowler, and Thomas Mullins. Honorary pallbearers are T.L. Mullins, Cameron Taylor, Courtney Taylor, Josh Darnell, Nick Sainata, and Richy Hall.

His body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
