Obituary

Tommy Shaw, 52, of Rome and formerly of Calhoun, died at Floyd Medical Center on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, following a sudden illness. Tommy was born in Gordon County on December 16, 1967; he was the son of the late John C. and Clara Thomas Shaw. Along with his parents, his brother-in-law, Donnie Chastain, also preceded him in death. Tommy was baptized at Salem Baptist Church in 1979. For the past several years, he worked at Basic Materials.
Tommy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas James 'TJ' and Samantha Jo Shaw; his daughters, Tasha Shae Shaw( Shawn Lackey), Brianna Hope Shaw, and Leanna Grace Shaw; his grandchildren, Dakota Garland, Kaydence Garland, McKinzie Garland, Jaiden Lackey, Kayson Cannan, Kole Cannan, and Kayne Cannan; his siblings and their spouses, Johnny (Lora) Shaw, Sandie S. Chastain, Faye S. (Harry A.) Maddox, Tammy S. (Michael O.) Evans; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, September 25, 2020, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. from Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Rev. Ralph Kinman will ofiiciate. Pallbearers are Alan Shaw, Adam Shaw, Chandler Shaw, Michael Evans, Johnny Patton, and Tyler Chastain.
Friends and family attending are asked to wear a face-covering and observe social distancing guidelines.
