Tommy Howard Walker

Mr. Tommy Howard Walker, age 72 of the Pleasant Hill Community, Ranger, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at his residence.

Mr. Walker was born on May 4, 1935 in Pickens County, Georgia, son of the late Howard Walker and Izola Martin Walker. Besides his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by sisters and brothers; Betty Tallent, Martha Austin, Bonnie Dixon, Marvin Walker, Ben Walker, Jack Walker, N.L. Walker and Russell Walker. During his lifetime he was a member of the Alabama National Guard, and was a retired electrician.

Mr. Walker is survived by one daughter, Gail Parris of Calhoun; one son, Robert Walker and his wife Tracy of Calhoun; three sisters, Gladys Wallace of Resaca, Clara Phillips of Illinois, and Ann Esposito of Ellijay; and five brothers, Eugene Walker and Larry Walker both of Resaca, Hugh Lee Walker, Johnny Walker and Harold Walker, Jr. all of Jasper, Georgia. One grandson, Pvt. Chris Walker with the United States Army, stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Howard Walker will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, from the Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Hubert Pack and Rev. Perry Blackstock officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Charlie Evans, James Black, Charles Black, Dennis Glover, Greg Dixon, Allen Walker and Robert Cook. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Kenneth Ponders, Joe Chamlee and Tony Chamlee. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home
