Mrs. Toy Hyde Gentry, age 95 of Resaca, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Calhoun Health Care. She was born in Gilmer County on May 4, 1915, daughter of the late Charles and Laura Adeline Hyde. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Elgin Gentry; four sons, Charles Thearon Gentry, Wendell Boyd Gentry, Delbert Gentry, and Weyman Winston Gentry; two brothers, Herman Hyde and Grayson Hyde; four sisters, Tempest Hyde, Bessie Fay Gentry, Sunshine Hyde, and Ella Fair Hyde; and a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Rogers Gentry.

Survivors include a son, Raphael Micky Gentry of Resaca; a daughter and son-in-law, Dymple and Leon Shaw of Calhoun; and a sister-in-law, Daisy Hyde of Resaca. Grandchildren surviving are Charlotte Silvers, James Gentry, Brian Gentry, Cary Gentry, Kimberly Stanfield, Ricky Gentry, Gary Gentry, Robin Gentry, Kay Blackwell, Winston Sanders, Sheila Boggs, Diane Wilkey, Debra Dalton, and Charles Gentry. Sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Toy Hyde Gentry will be conducted Tuesday, April 5th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Jimmy Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include James Gentry, Jake Whitlock, Chris Blackwell, Robin Gentry, and Brian Young.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
