Mr. Trammell Lamar Shepherd, age 78 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on November 11, 1932, son of the late Sherman Shepherd and the late Emma Jackson Parris.
Mr. Shepherd was a veteran of the US Navy, serving his country during the Korean War. During his employment years, he operated a full service gas station in Florida, worked as a mechanic and salesman for his Dad at Shepherd Motors, worked at Lockheed, and was an electronics technician at Cape Canaveral, FL.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Ray Sotomayor of Dade City, FL; a sister, Kathryn Phillips and her husband James of Rome, GA; a half-sister, Sharon Smith and her husband Edward of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Johnny and Brandon Sotomayor; a niece, Denise Sims of Rome; and a great-nephew, Jordan Brock of Cartersville.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Trammell Lamar Shepherd will be held Monday, September 19th at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Eddie Brannon, Tom Allison, and James Phillips officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Fain Cemetery with military honors. Active pallbearers include Leon McClure, Jordan Brock, J.D. Rogers, Mac Knight, Kevin Knight, and Chris Knight. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Monday at 12:15pm.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
