Mrs. Troy Lee (Wyatt) Muse, age 85, a well-known resident of the Oostanaula community, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Redmond Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Muse was born in Gordon County on October 30th, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph Earl and Cora Lee Lowery Wyatt. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl G. Wyatt, and a twin brother, Roy Joseph Wyatt. She was retired from the textile industry, having been employed at Dixie Bell and Regent Mills. She was a member of Oostanaula Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Muse to whom she was married for 65 years; a daughter, Doris Muse of Calhoun; two sons, Larry Muse and his wife Darlene of Calhoun, and David Muse and his wife Valerie of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Dwayne Muse and his wife Erica, Joshua Muse, and Benji Hornick and his wife Kaveri; a great grandchild, Will Muse; two step grandchildren, David Johnson and Lisa Carillo; two nieces, Joyce Moore and her husband Billy, and Cheryl Erwin and her husband Gene, all of Calhoun; a great niece, Dana Woodard; a great nephew, Alton Scoggins; a great-great niece, Madison Woodard; and a great-great nephew, Mason Woodard. A host of other relatives and close friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Troy Lee (Wyatt) Muse will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 4:00 PM from the Oostanaula Baptist Church, with Rev. Rick Langston and Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. Music will be arranged by Billy and Judy Mitchell, along with Jason Burns. Interment will follow in the Oostanaula Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Larry Pratt, Max Blalock, Hollis Patterson, Sam A. King, Terry Nesbitt, Tony Carrillo, and Malachi Carnes. Honorary pallbearers include the deacons of Oostanaula Baptist Church, Hayward Bohannon, Jerry Miller, Jessie Sewell, Atwood Cannon and Bill Goforth.
The Muse family will receive friends at Oostanaula Baptist Church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour of 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oostanaula Baptist Church in Mrs. Muse' memory.
