Troy Mcginnis

February 14, 1937 — June 8, 2009

Mr. Troy McGinnis, age 72 of Calhoun, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 8, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born in Murray County on February 14, 1937, son of the late Jim and Glenner Gallman McGinnis. Mr. McGinnis was retired from Caltex, and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his five loving children; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Teresa McGinnis, and Gary and Cindy McGinnis, all of Calhoun; and three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Wayne Parker, Cynthia and Greg McGuire, all of Calhoun, and Marie and Michael Hurst of Chatsworth. Other survivors include four brothers, Johnny McGinnis and his wife Rachel of Jonesboro, GA, James McGinnis of Rumulas, MI, Vernon McGinnis and his wife Carolyn of Nicholsville, and Jerry McGinnis of Calhoun; and three sisters, Ann Ayers and her husband Bill, Alma Padgett, and Debbie Mulkey and her husband Gary, all of Calhoun. Fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Troy McGinnis will be conducted Thursday, June 11 at 1:00pm from the Trinity Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Tommy Childress officiating, as well as long time friend Harold Crump. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Kevin Parker, Charlie McGinnis, Jason McGuire, William Bryant, Jeremy Erwin, and Josh Glosson. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday beginning at 11:00am.
