Mr. Tywarren Derrick Rogers, age 30 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Saint Joseph's Medical Center.
Mr. Rogers was born on February 29, 1980 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, husband of Keenya Lafay Hale Rogers; and son of Curtis Rose and the late Sarah Ann Rogers. He was a graduate of Gordon Central High School class of 1998, and later served his country with the United States Army. He was a member of the Tabernacle of Praise.
Survivors include his wife, Keenya LaFay Hale Rogers of the home; a daughter, Kiera Hale of Calhoun; father, Curtis Rose; and a sister, DeAngela Rogers of Eutaw, Alabama. Three nephews, two nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Tywarren Derrick Rogers will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00am from the Tabernacle of Praise with Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Active pallbearers will be Austin Causby, Joey Cain, Michael Bingiel, Jessy Lee, Zues Rameris, and Reggie Gordon. Honorary pallbearers are Joel Dupree, Scott Culberson and Brian Woods. Interment will follow the service at the Georgia National Cemetery with military honors. On Monday at 12:00 noon, Mr. Rogers will be placed in state at the Tabernacle of Praise where the family will receive friends until the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be given for funeral expenses.
