Vennie Stell Vance

Mrs. Vennie Stell Vance, 91, of Calhoun, died at her home on Thursday, September 17, 2015 following several months of declining health.

Vennie was born in Bartow County on July 30, 1924; she was the daughter of the late Everett and Bell Stell. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William Homer Vance; her brothers, Richard and Murphy Stell; her sisters, Birdie Padgett and Molly Beavers; and her son-in-law, Jerry (Lanny) Henderson . Prior to her retirement, she worked at Mannington Mills. Vennie was of the Baptist faith.

Vennie is survived by her sons and their wives, Billy and Janie Vance, of Calhoun, William and Wanda Vance, and Larry and Esther Vance, all of Brooksville, Florida; her daughter, Shirley Henderson, of Calhoun; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; other loving relatives and friends.

The Vance family will receive friends from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2015 at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19th from the funeral home chapel. Rev. Charles Gay and Pastor Keith Reid will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Jonathan Silvers, Matthew Silvers, Zachary Koelling, Dillon Toth, Blake Smith, Christopher Green, and Braxton Linsey. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, Hoyt Baker, and David Baker.
