Vera Estelle Padgett

Mrs. Vera Estelle Padgett, age 96 of Oakman, GA went to be with her Lord Monday, February 6, 2012 at Calhoun Health Care. She was born on August 3, 1915, daughter of the late Arthur and Callie Ralston Silvers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Padgett; and two daughters, Elsie Densmore of Oakman, and Jo Ann Henderson of Talking Rock.

Mrs. Padgett was a life-long member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Gilmer County.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosie Beavers of Rocky Face, and Betty Correll of McDonough; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and two step-sisters, Della Mae Silvers of Ranger, and Gertrude Ratcliff. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Estelle Padgett will be held Wednesday, February 8th at 2:00pm from the Shady Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Beavers and Rev. Tony Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include John Densmore, Tracy Densmore, Andrew Beavers, Rev. Robert Beavers, Tim Henderson, Levi Blankenship, Scott Densmore, and Daniel Mulkey. These gentlemen are requested to assemble at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:00pm.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
