Vera Inez Stansell

Mrs. Vera Inez Stansell, age 55 of Resaca, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 following several months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on November 17, 1954, daughter of the late Roy and Evelyn Stansell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Patterson and Elizabeth Hill.

Prior to her illness, Mrs. Stansell was employed with Springs Industries. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Debbie Boggs of Chatsworth; two daughters, Julie Boggs of Resaca, and Amber Scoggins of Chatsworth; three brothers, James Stansell, Johnny Stansell, and Doyle Stansell, all of Calhoun; and five sisters, Nancy Stansell Dodd of Resaca, Judy Stansell Hill of Calhoun, Martha Stansell Hughes of Calhoun, Diane Stansell Young of Calhoun, and Frances Stansell Timms of Resaca. Grandchildren surviving are Hunter Boggs, Jacob Boggs, Kelsey Bowman, Jonathon Pendley, and Jared Pendley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Inez Stansell will be conducted Friday, August 27th at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon, Rev. Terry Timms, and Rev. Andrew Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Doug Patterson, Eric Young, Travis Stansell, Tony Hughes, Allan Hill, David Hill, and Matt Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Clark, Dale Bowen, Emory Jolley, Larry Clark, Danny Amonett, and Grady Jolley.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home beginning Wednesday at 6:00pm, and continuing Thursday after 6:00pm.
