Vera Worley Gilmore

Mrs. Vera Mae Worley Gilmore, age 82 of Calhoun, GA passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Gordon Health Care Center.

Mrs. Gilmore was born on September 18, 1930 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Earl Felix and Mamie Clark Worley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Starling Gilmore; sisters, Geraldine Worley Epps, Grace Worley Couch, and Zeta Worley Cruise; and brothers, Fred Walter Worley and Felix Worley.

She retired from Bell South as a telephone operator. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in St. Augustine, FL, and the Order of the Eastern Star of Nashville, TN.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Stephanie Jones and her husband Maurice of Resaca, Stephen Worley and his wife Melissa, and Stuart Worley, all of Calhoun, Gina Corliss and her husband Flash of Mableton, Sherri Crews of Tampa, FL, Mike Crews and his wife Suzanne of Blue Ridge, Chris Crews and his wife Jean of Palmer, Alaska, and Tim Crews and his wife Michelle of Athens, AL. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.

A private memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Vera Mae Worley Gilmore will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent in her memory to Grace United Methodist Church, 8 Carrera Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
