Verdia Mae Gilbert

Mrs. Verdia Mae Gilbert, age 75 of Calhoun, passed away April 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Cedartown, Georgia on September 11, 1934, daughter of the late Fred and Audie Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Gilbert.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Gilbert was employed at the Hickory House Restaurant.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Dixon; two sisters, Susan Tunner and Donna Causby; grandchildren, Lisa Waldon, Chriseie Dixon, Michael Dixon, April Dixon, Christopher Dixon, Damion Dixon, James DeFreese, and Tammy Dixon; and great-grandchildren, Bricney Dixon, Alexandra Dixon, Jasmine Dixon, Cheyenne Dixon, Kendell Parker, Kerri Parker, Christopher Parker, and Eric Herrera.

At Mrs. Gilbert's request, her body was cremated and no services are planned.
