Vernon Timms

Mr. Vernon Timms age 75 of Resaca, Georgia died early Saturday, December 22, 2007 at his residence following eight months declining health.

Mr. Timms was born in Gordon County on February 14, 1932. He was son of the late Ben and Emma Gallman Timms. Mr. Timms was retired from the Georgia Parks and Natural Resources, where he was assigned to New Echota Historic Site for 31 years.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Baldwin Timms to whom he was married for 47 years; a son and daughter in law, Donald and Frances Timms of Resaca; one granddaughter, Shelly Timms of Resaca; one brother, Rev. Jimmie Timms of Resaca; one sister, Annie Lou Brillhart of Ohio, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Timms will be conducted Monday, December 24th, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Timms, Rev. Terry Timms and Rev. Randall Massingill officiating. Interment will following in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include the following gentlemen; Gary Wooten, Paul Baldwin, Frankie Newborn, Jeff Stancill, Sanford Sisson, Raymond Cowart, Terry Baldwin, David Slaughter and Michael Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers serving will include employees of the Georgia Department of Parks and Natural resources. They are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 PM Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between the hours of 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Sunday.
