Mrs. Vesta Mazil Cook Belvin age 81, of Rydal, GA died Saturday evening at Gwinnett Hospital in Lawrenceville, GA after a brief illness.
Mrs. Belvin was born in Jamestown, TN on May 15, 1932, daughter of the late Davis Cook and Beatrice Findley Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Belvin in 1995; two sisters, Jean Flowers and Bessie Albright; two brothers, Carlos Cook and Harold Cook; a daughter-in-law, Pam Belvin; and a son, Sammy Belvin.
Mrs. Belvin was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to work in her yard and do gardening and take care of her flowers. She loved to watch the birds and listen to them sing. She attended Plainview Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters; Sharon Seritt and her husband Neal of Rydal and Charlotte Patterson and her husband Burnece of Calhoun, two sons; Donnie Belvin and Daryel Belvin and his wife Peggy all of TN, and one sister, Lela Hillis of Florida. Grandchildren; Taylor and Hudson Seritt of Rydal, Jennifer Lyles of Calhoun and David and McKinley Belvin of TN. Great grandchildren; Lorna Lyles, Faith, Austin and Bryson Belvin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vesta Mazil Belvin will be held Thursday, May 23rd at 2:00 PM CST from the chapel of Mundy Funeral Home in Clarkrange, TN with interment to follow in Goney Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, Monday and Tuesday evening between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
