Vicki Fuquea Hicks, age 55 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at her residence following six weeks of illness.
Vicki was born on December 24, 1952 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Raymond and Floy Denney Fuquea. Besides her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Fuquea and Larry Fuquea. She was employed by Mohawk Industries in the Sample Administration Department, and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Chance Hicks; six sisters, Betty Butler, Lana Greeson and her husband Jan, Janet Thomason and her husband Larry, Joan Roach, Donna Couch and her husband Eddie, and Melinda Parker, all of Calhoun; and one brother, Gary Fuquea and his wife Wynette of Calhoun. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Vicki Fuquea Hicks will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00pm from the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Larry Naylor and Rev. Ross Tipps officiating. Singing will be arranged by Lori Sutton and Olivia Thomason. Active pallbearers serving will include Kenny Fuquea, Mitch Butler, Trent Thomason, Heath Thomason, Michael Roach, Eddie Fair, Jr., Kevin Couch and Terry Ralston. They are requested to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 1:00pm. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Cody Ralston, Casey Baxter, Corey Baxter, Terry Mathis, Gerald Brown, Derek Reece, Kenny Joe Dixon, Hugh Cox and Travis Roland. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the church on Tuesday at 2:30pm. Interment will follow the service in Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Monday evening during the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
