Obituary

Mrs. Vickie Ann Lawson Blalock, 75, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Vickie was born in Lenoir City, TN, on February 21, 1947, the daughter of the late Tommy and Ada Jenkins Lawson. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by OMC Corporation and Suzuki Corporation, was a member of College Street Church of God, and attended Red Bud School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Chloe Lawson Dooley (Edward), and Karella Long, and brother-in-law, Jimmy "Cy" Blalock; brothers, Jack Lawson and Lester Lawson.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Blalock, to whom she was married for 58 years; daughter and son-in-law, Candi and Calvin Benton; son Gary Blalock and Holli Watkins; grandchildren, Bret Benton, Tyler Benton Roe, MaKenzie Rankin, Malone Blalock, Brody Blalock, Nick Roe, Ryne Rankin, Alex Kirby, Cole Story; great-grandchildren, Mason Roe, Remi Sue Rankin, Della Rigney Rankin, Cooper David Roe; two sisters; Wanda Blalock, and Lonnita (Al) Willis; brother, James Lawson, brother-in-law, Johnny Long along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A service to celebrate the life of Vickie Lawson Blalock will be held Monday, October 31st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Phillips and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, with Al Willis officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Bret Benton, Brody Blalock, Mason Roe, Ryne Rankin, Nick Roe, and Cole Story.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 30th, between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 PM at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.
