Viola Miller Brookshire

Mrs. Viola Miller Brookshire, 78 of Calhoun, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Gordon Hospital, following several weeks of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on April 11, 1938, daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Robinson Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Brookshire in 1998; a daughter, Kathy Brookshire; and a sister, Frances Brookshire.
Mrs. Brookshire had retired from Fafnir. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Billy Carter of Calhoun, and Debbi and Larry Johnston of Sonoraville; grandchildren, Bryttany Johnston, Cole Johnston, and Ariel Carter; great-grandchildren, Kayce Fields, Silas Cochran, and Ivy Johnston; her "adopted" son, Kenneth Patterson of Calhoun; and her "adopted" grandchildren, Justin Cochran, Jessica Boling, Emily Hannigan, and Brittany Cook. Nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Viola Miller Brookshire will be held Tuesday, March 14th at 2:00 PM from Bethesda Baptist Church, with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Mrs. Brookshires body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday, from 12:30 PM until the service hour of 2:00 PM. Music will be arranged by Aaron Petty. The Deacons of Bethesda Baptist Church will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, Kenneth Patterson, and Troy Casey.
The Brookshire family will receive friends at Bethesda Baptist Church on Tuesday from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.
