Virginia Anne Buford

Mrs. Virginia Anne Buford, age 74 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Gordon Health Care Center following two years of declining health.

She was born on August 23, 1934 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Reece and Robbie Roach Reece. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Buford on June 14, 2006. During her lifetime she was employed in the textile industry and was a member of East Gate Baptist Church. Mrs. Buford is survived by a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Anne Buford will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00pm from the New Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Jimmy Faith and Rev. Gene Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the New Zion Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Rogers conducting the graveside rites. Music will be arranged by Mrs. Betty Luckett. Pallbearers serving will include Billy Lackey, Randall Newberry, Chance Clayton, Jeff Culberson, Malachia Carnes and Brian Martin. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday during the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
