Virginia Bishop

Mrs. Virginia Ann Bishop, age 74 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at her residence following several years of declining health.

She was born on December 2, 1936 in Flint, Michigan, daughter of the late Lyle Franklin Fenner and Gertrude Ellen Compliment Fenner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Edward Bishop; a grandson, William "Billy" Bishop, III; three sisters, Margaret Fenner, Rosalie Butler, and Jeanette Blagg; and brothers, Bernard Fenner, Joe Fenner, Tom Fenner and Richard Fenner. During her lifetime she was the owner of Bishop Ceramics of Calhoun and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bishop is survived by her husband Bill Bishop, to whom she was married for 58 years; daughters, Peggy Glass, Carol Walker and her husband Alan, Jenny Lee Blay and her husband Kurt, Kathy Torok and her husband David, all of Calhoun; sons, William Bishop, Jr. and his wife Denise of Michigan, Lonie Bishop and his wife Jennifer of Plainville; a sister, Jeri Morrisey and her husband Larry of Michigan; and a brother, Ernie Fenner of Michigan. Twenty-two grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews and a special family, Ray and Judy Heath also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Ann Bishop will be conducted Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Kinman, Rev. Brian Childs, and Rev. Jason Parker officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Alan Walker, Lonie Bishop, Billy Bishop, Mark Bishop, David Torok and Jarrell Torok. Grandsons will serve as honorary escort. Interment will follow the service in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
